A new series of in-person traffic safety workshops toured the state in 2024 and 2025. The workshop, developed by MnDOT State Aid Unit, Office of Traffic Engineering (OTE), FHWA, and city and county engineering associations, was created to combat the rise in fatalities and serious injuries during the COVID era and aimed to significantly reduce these incidents by addressing the current knowledge gap in safety planning and implementation. Presenters will provide a high-level overview of the purpose of the series, workshop presentation material and style, lessons learned, and share how other states could create a similar program.
