The Metropolitan Council’s Equity Evaluation of Transportation Investment Processes - The Metropolitan Council and MnDOT conducted a pilot Equity Evaluation to assess how transportation projects in the Minneapolis–St. Paul region are identified, prioritized, and funded through an equity lens. Guided by a community-based Equity Policy Group (EPG), the study focused on three project types—highway, transit, and bike/trail facilities—and led to the development of an Equity Framework and Process Evaluation Tool. Attendees will learn how to apply an equity-focused evaluation framework and tool to improve fairness and community representation in transportation investment decision-making processes.
