This group of presentations focuses on addressing the alarming rise in work zone crashes as outlined by the National Work Zone Safety Information Clearinghouse. This interactive session will delve into the exploration of various cutting-edge innovations that agencies are currently deploying to enhance work zone safety. These measures aim to safeguard both the workforce on the ground and the general public. The discussed innovations will include Connected Vehicle applications that utilize the Work Zone Data Exchange (WZDx) specifications to disseminate information within vehicles, machine vision technology to detect workers and alert drivers timely, Autonomous Truck Mounted Attenuators (ATMAs), and automated work zone enforcement methods.
