Chris Feinthel was appointed to the position of Assistant Commissioner of Operations, in September 2023. As a member of NJDOT's Senior Leadership team, Chris is responsible for leading a team of 1,500 employees charged with keeping the highway system in a state of good repair and ensuring the safe mobility of the motoring public. The Operations team manages over $350 million in construction projects annually, acting as the lead Unit for all proactive infrastructure maintenance and innovative roadway technologies. Additionally, Chris serves as the Department's Emergency Management Coordinator, responsible for the NJDOT's emergency response in both the areas of highway incidents and weather-related activities. Previously Chris has held various leadership roles within the Department, in both Regional and Statewide Operations. Chris holds a degree in Political Science from Bucknell University and is a graduate of the Operations Academy Senior Management Program, with a focus on transportation management systems and operations.
