Dan has been an engineer with the Department of Transportation since 2017. After graduating from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2011, he started his career in highway design in the private sector. Since joining the Department, Dan has been in the Traffic Operations section and serves as a subject-matter expert on the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) for the Department. His responsibilities include crafting Department policy on traffic control devices and being responsible for a variety of Statewide traffic operations projects, including efforts to upgrade signing and promote uniformity at all“low clearance” bridges over the state highway system. Dan also serves as the chairperson for the NYSDOT Bridge Hit Mitigation Task Force.
