Daniel Farley was appointed to his position as the Director, Bureau of Operations on May 14, 2022. He started his career in 2004 as a Civil Engineering Trainee in District 4. In 2007 he moved to Central Office and has held various positions in the Highway Safety and Traffic Operations. He has been involved in various program develop and updates in the Automated Red Light and Speed Enforcement Programs, Work Zone Traffic Control, Traffic Operations, and Traffic Management Centers.



Dan graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Transportation. He also received the 2015 PennDOT Star of Excellence Award and attended the Eastern Transportation Coalition and National Operations Center of Excellence for Senior Management Program.
