In September 2024, Hurricane Helene devastated Western North Carolina, causing extensive damage and a partial collapse of Interstate 40 along the Pigeon River Gorge. This mobile tour will take attendees in vans to the site of the reconstruction efforts to hear from NCDOT officials about the recovery progress and the difficulties faced along the way.
