Dave Parker started as the Public Information Officer with the Arkansas Department of Transportation in October 2020.
In his first six months, he faced a record-breaking winter storm and the emergency shutdown of the Interstate 40 bridge near Memphis.
Prior to ARDOT, Parker spent 35+ years working in local television.
He is an Emmy award-winning journalist who served as News Director for THV11, KTHV, the CBS station in Little Rock.
He moved to Little Rock after working 10 years as Assistant News Director at WCAU, the NBC affiliate in Philadelphia, the fourth largest TV market in the country.
Parker also managed newsrooms in Baltimore, Maryland, and Chattanooga, Tennessee, after working 15 years on-air as a reporter in various markets including Memphis.
He and his wife Sara, have four children, Grace, Reed, Brooks and Lila.
He’s a graduate of Murray State University, born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky.
