As a transportation executive, Henrika uses her expertise to help HNTB’s clients across the country make connections possible. She helps shape the future of mobility by co-creating solutions for equitable transportation projects that build thriving communities. She’s passionate about connecting people to larger transportation networks, good paying jobs and more opportunities.

For more than 25 years, Henrika has served the transportation industry, including more than 20 years of experience at the Federal Transit Administration where she held various positions including a decade as a senior executive. She provides strategic advice to clients using her federal expertise in major capital project oversight, transit safety regulations, federal transportation policy, federal transportation funding programs and grant compliance.

Henrika served as the associate administrator of Safety and Oversight and chief safety officer at FTA. There she was responsible for establishing and implementing the federal safety regulatory framework. In that capacity, Henrika oversaw the successful certification of all state safety oversight agencies responsible for safety oversight of the 65 rail transit systems across the country and led the development and implementation of the Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan Regulation revolutionizing how transit safety is managed at approximately 800 transit systems.

Henrika also served as the associate administrator of Program Management at FTA where she was responsible for developing and administering a $12 billion dollar annual formula and competitive funding program and the federal oversight of more than $117 billion in Capital Investment Grant program agreements with transit agencies across the nation.

Henrika is a native of Hillsboro, Alabama, and currently resides in Alexandria, Virginia. She received her bachelor’s in political science and master’s in urban and regional planning from Alabama A&M University. She received her law degree from Georgetown University.
