Max did not grow up in the construction business. In fact, he is relatively new to highway construction. He joined Blackstone Construction in 201 o. Prior to that time, he was the Chief Lending Officer/Board Member at First State Bank in Russellville, Arkansas. He graduated from Arkansas Tech University with a BS in economics and finance in 1993 where he was also the captain of the basketball team earning three All-American honors. In 2002, he graduated with distinction from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Georgetown University. Since joining the industry, Max has been active in the Arkansas Asphalt Paving Association (AAPA) where he was chairman of the Board of Directors in 2021. He was recently appointed as the NAPA representative for Arkansas. He has been married to his wife, Stephanie, for 30 years and they have two sons, Brock, and Bowen. Brock also works in the industry in aggregate sales.
