Chris Engelbrecht serves as Director of the Safety and Emergency Management Division with the Missouri Department of Transportation. Chris obtained a Bachelor of Science in Safety Management from the University of Central Missouri in 1994, holds the credential of Certified Safety Professional, and has over 29 years of experience related to occupational safety and emergency management programs.

Chris coordinates the safety, security, emergency management, training, and claims functions for the department. Additionally, Chris serves as Chair of the AASHTO Committee on Transportation System Security and Resilience (CTSSR) Emergency Management Subcommittee and as the English Speaking Secretary to the PIARC (World Road Association) Technical Committee on Disaster Management.
