Description: The West Virginia Department of Transportation is in the process of implementing its Safety Assessment for Every Roadway (SAFER) initiative to identify and prioritize safety projects on all roadways across the state. Using the new SAFER approach, safety teams can utilize custom data dashboards, safety questionnaires, and data-driven safety analysis projects to identify and prioritize safety projects uniformly and systematically across all public roadways. This presentation will focus on the process and the tools used by WVDOT to help all safety stakeholders work toward the goal of eliminating fatalities and serious injuries on West Virginia roads.
