Description: This presentation will provide an overview of Kentucky’s effort to integrate pavement friction measurement (PFM) and management into a program for comprehensive safety performance management. In addition to highlighting the groups involved in making strategic and tactical decisions regarding PFM, the presentation will share how senior leaders have been involved in this innovative approach. It will also focus on how PFM has made Kentucky’s approach to safety more systemic, systematic, and proactive, as well as the early programmatic successes, which can serve as a model for other states.
