Description: The FHWA National Strategic Roadmap documents a vision of how they would like all US DOTs to conduct their Digital Project Delivery activities by 2031. This session will delve into the national objectives of this vision, the driving motivations behind it, the timeline, milestones, and the support available to ensure success. Additionally, we'll discuss the Digital Project Delivery activities underway at the KYTC and how they relate to the FHWA-NSR vision. Lastly, the session will address the evolving roles and responsibilities of DOT consultants, contractors, and technology partners in relation to the Advancing BIM for Infrastructure National Strategic Roadmap. KYTC continues to advance its Digital Project Delivery (DPD) Initiative, in collaboration with the Kentucky Transportation Center at the University of Kentucky and many industry representatives. Strong collaboration and feedback between Highway Design and Construction personnel have proven essential for addressing the challenges of the shift to Digital Delivery. A program of pilot projects serves the DPD Initiative by (a) resolving obstacles that hinder more widespread use of digital data and (b) increasing data functionality during the construction phase of project management. Project-level implementation plans document testing details, roles of key project stakeholders, and how the unique needs of each project team have been addressed.
