The McArthur Lake Realignment Project, located in northern Idaho, was intended to improve highway safety; then tribal construction monitors discovered cultural resources over 11,000 years old. Hear how tribal member and archaeologist Jyl Wheaton-Abraham combined traditional knowledge and decolonizing theory in this work, earning her and the ITD project leader the 2024 AASHTO President's Award for Equity.
