Hold Your Horsepower… in Watts, Electrification is Here
Michelle Mueller, MDOT and Andy Woolpert, Jacobs
Electric vehicle (EV) charging technologies, beyond plug and charge, are evolving. In-road (inductive charging) technologies are quickly developing around the world and pilots are beginning to appear in the US. This session will present a Michigan project to deploy one of the first public wireless and in-road wireless systems for charging electric vehicles in the U.S.
Dynamic Wireless Power Transfer Pilot Projects
Nathan Sturdevant, INDOT and Greg Reilly, AECOM
This presentation will cover pilot projects in Indiana and Florida for dynamic wireless power transfer (DWPT), which has the potential to reduce range anxiety and allow for smaller/lighter batteries in vehicles. Along with a project overview, presenters will share how this relates to the future of wirelessly charged vehicles, and other charging projects.
