Paul Avery serves as the Automation and Data Technical Lead for AECOM, as well as the Strategic Growth Leader for the US West Region. Based in Austin, Texas, he brings 26 years of experience in the research, development, and deployment of automated, connected, and cooperative vehicle systems. He has presented on a variety of topics both in the US and internationally, and his work has resulted in seven awarded patents, and one pending patent. He is also the lead developer for AV-Readi™, a digital tool that assesses the deployment readiness of roadways to support automated vehicles. He currently advises clients on automated vehicle technology deployment challenges and readiness, as well as issues related to data standards and management for emerging technologies.
