Lori Fisette is the Director of the Division of Project Management for the Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT). She supervises not only a group of 28 project managers but also the department’s construction, materials, training unit, scoping and compliance, survey, cultural resources, and utilities for a total of about 275 employees. She was promoted to this position after serving as Manager of Project Management for 4 years. Project Management and its ancillary offices have full responsibility for the execution of RIDOT’s 10-year plan which is the core of RIDOT’s goal to bring Rhode Island’s roads and bridges into a state of good repair by 2025 while keeping projects on time and on budget. During her tenure, she has implemented policies and procedures that have vastly improved the cost-effectiveness and efficiency of this critical unit. Projects are now about 92% percent on time and on budget from a previous record of 50%.Ms. Fisette joined the department in 2011 as a Fiscal Management Officer. She also worked as RIDOT’s Principal Economic and Policy Analyst and Assistant Director of Financial and Contract Management before moving into Project Management. A graduate of North Carolina Wesleyan College with a degree in criminal justice and psychology, Ms. Fisette received her M.B.A. in 2003 and became certified In Public Performance Management in2013andProject Management Professional (PMP) in 2023
