Charging Ahead: State Strategies for EV Infrastructure Planning

The National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Program (NEVI) was announced in early 2022 with an aggressive timeline for states to create 5-year plans to build out a national electric vehicle charging network.  Each state rose to the task of completing and updating their plan; However, each state took an approach that suited their specific needs, vision, and challenges, while still following the national NEVI guidance. After setting the stage with current electrification market trends, various state DOTs will explore how their NEVI plans were created with ongoing engagement efforts and lessons learned along the way.
